The windiest Outfit of the Day shoot yet!
Beanie - Primark
Roll-Neck Jumper - Primark
Woolen Tights - TK Maxx
The weather's taken a bit of an aggressive turn hasn't it?
On Sunday, I finally got to see the Southend seafront (after spending most of my weekends in Essex for a year and a half now, it was about time), but underestimated the weather conditions.
From the confines of my boyfriend's cosy house, it looked like a sunny albeit slightly windy day, so I got ready for what I thought would be a good Outfit of the Day environment.

I don't think I've experienced wind like it. I had Davy Jones style hair tentacles the majority of the time, and the only respite was behind the scattered shelters and shops along the mile-long pier.

It was cold, but the only part of me that really felt it was my face, thanks to my layering skills and woolen tights.

This Primark roll-neck jumper has been a Winter lifesaver. I think it's meant to be a jumper anyway, but on short little me it works perfectly as a dress. It's so cosy, and despite its baggy shape is actually quite feminine. The looseness allowed me to wear a t-shirt underneath without it bulking me out.

I'm definitely getting my money's worth out of my Public Desire boots. I've worn them non-stop since I got them. They go with EVERYTHING!

My ears would have frozen off if it wasn't for my beanie (really need to get some earmuffs). Another Primark bargain, for only a few quid it's really good quality.

Maxi Cardigan - Primark
Antler Ring - Rebel Ocean

Another Outfit of the Day post for you guys. I've kinda set myself a goal of doing
more of these. Styling is something I really enjoy, and I've been following other people's style inspo for ages now and have really wanted to get involved myself.

I've been spending the New Year at my boyfriend's in Essex, and there's some gorgeous countryside around here. We regularly go for walks, and considering how monochrome my outfits have been as of late, it makes for a perfect backdrop.

This maxi cardigan is my new best friend. I always used to think that because I'm so short (5'2) I couldn't pull off maxi things, but over the years I've figured out which maxi styles suit my height, and how to wear them. I'd been eyeing up this particular style of cardigan for a good few months (my Pinterest page is full of them), when I saw this beaut in my local Primark. For £8 it was a steal. I'll tell you a little secret though: it scanned at £3 and I didn't say anything - MAJOR BARGAIN SNEAKS!

Another Christmas sale bargain were the Black Block Heel Boots from Public Desire . For me, when it comes to fashionable and stylish footwear, Public Desire are a brand I can rely on. I've got a crazy long wishlist consisting of practically every black boot they have to offer, so when I saw they were having a huge sale on Boxing Day I was probably one of the first in there. These boots are still on sale at only £17.99 so be quick of you want a cheeky New Year treat.

I also just want to mention the gorgeous Antler Ring from Rebel Ocean. It was actually one of my presents from the boyfriend. I've got an ambition to have a monstrous silver ring collection, and not only am I in love with this new addition, but Rebel Ocean's collection is stunning and timeless. Can't wait to own more of their stuff!

Blogmas Day 29: Into The Woods - OOTD

So I'll admit I've been pretty crappy with Blogmas, however I'm pretty pleased with how much content I've managed to come up with, and I really hope you've enjoyed it.

With the chaos of Christmas finally over, I decided to pick my camera up once more and get back into the swing of things with a good ol' Outfit of the Day post.

I've been meaning to do another one for ages, especially since I got this new dress from Boohoo.com.

I've never owned a wrap dress before, but for anyone with a curvy figure they're incredible flattering. I'd never looked twice at one until I saw this print. From a distance it looks like any old monochrome pattern, but close-up the detailed woodland print becomes clear.

What I really love about it is that you can dress it up and down, and that goes for the boots too. They were a brilliant Black Friday buy that go with absolutely everything, from dresses to ripped jeans. I'm such a sucker for a chunky heel.

The scarf and gloves also featured in my Black Friday post and were my best bargain buys. So happy to finally own a pair of leather gloves.

All in all I feel the contrast of soft fabrics with leather, as well as matte with glossy makes for an outfit suitable for a variety of occasions, be it a meal out or a walk in the woods (not if it's muddy though, the boots now need a good scrub; luckily they're washable).

Belated Blogmas Day 13: Black Friday Haul

Who got involved in the Black Friday madness then?

I did, but from the comfort of my cosy warm bed. It makes me wonder whether those morons fighting over discounted TVs knew that the internet existed.

I know this post is a while after the hype of Black Friday, but my goodies have only just arrived!

It was a little bit frustrating actually because two of the products I ordered were for Prague, but they arrived too late for me to take them *sniff*.

Here they are now though - my bargain babies:

The boots were actually a lucky buy, because I won a £30 House of Fraser voucher in a competition run by Sophie Hannah Richardson which meant that the boots only cost me a tenner!

The gloves and snood were a major bargain too though. Both of them only came to £23 and the gloves are real leather too!

They snood is so handy. It goes with absolutely everything, and I don't have to faff with fancy scarf wrapping (I can never do it right!).

I adore the gloves, however my challenge this season is going to be not losing them. Every pair of gloves I've ever owned have been lost. Whether it's dropping one as I've taken it off to use my phone, or forgetting I've put them down and walking off without them, I always find a away of losing one if not both of them. The don't-loose-the-gloves challenge starts now.

Can't wait to shoot an outfit post with them, so stay tuned!

Belated Blogmas Day 10: Baby It's Cold Outside

Vintage Fur Jacket - Canterbury Vintage Market - £60
Dogtooth Dress - Primark

I was definitely well prepared for Prague when it came to clothes. This was on the coldest day where it dropped to -4 degrees. I'm so happy I took my fur coat with me. I worried I'd be overdressed, but almost everyone was wearing something similar.

Teamed with my fluffy headband, my boots, multiple socks and a thermal t-shirt under my dress, I was unbelievably cosy.

I've also fallen in love with my new satchel bag. I needed something small because none of my other bags would be allowed on the plane, so I just grabbed this bag from Tescos last minute, but it's so handy and really quite stylish.

Blogmas Day 8: What's In My Bag - Prague

So I mentioned a few posts ago that me and the boyfriend are going to Prague today! We wanted to do something that'd really get us in the Christmas mood and wanted to visit a traditional Christmas market. There were some amazing deals on Lastminute.com and after weeks of research, we settled on Prague.

In the stress of printing off boarding passes and finding some thermals, I thought I'd take a few pics of some of the essentials I'm taking. I only have a small hand luggage bag to take so there isn't a lot, but I think I'm finally getting the habit of travelling light.

I can't wait to share with you guys my Prague adventures. So watch this space.

Witchy Winter Walks

Hat - Primark
Bag - Primark
Rings - Antique
Bangles - Camden

Even though it's cold outside, when the sun is shining it's hard to resist going for a stroll.

So on Saturday me and the boyfriend decided to take his Nan's boxer dog Poppy out for a walk in Wat Tyler park in Essex.

With the sun slowly setting, and bare branches all around us, the woods had a Blare Witch Project vibe about them (who are these people leaving intricately built wooden dens lying around? Stop it! It's freaky!) which was quite apt considering my witchy attire.

I saw the dress in H&M a while ago and anything black and lacy I have to have, but I'd been struggling to figure out how to style it. I loved it because it was such a statement, and I think that's what I needed to allow it to be. Keeping it simple with just a silver and black accessories helps the dress speak for itself.

I honestly think the outside world looks it's best this time of year when the Sun's shining, so if you've got time, grab a crazy dog or a friend and get out there.
