I know for a fact that I am not the only one who is over the moon to see the sun!

Dress - Boohoo
Boots - Miss Selfridge
Bag - F&F
Sunglasses - Camden Market
Necklace - Topshop

Now that it's actually here, it's hard not to get carried away. The desire to dress yourself head-to-toe in full-on Summer attire is strong, but believe it or not we are still in that transitional stage. The sun is warm but the wind is bitter, and understanding how to dress in such weather is so difficult.

My last transitional OOTD was a bit more A/W focused than this one, but as each week goes by, I feel like we can get a bit braver. The coats have been put away, and tights are not so much of a necessity anymore.

This Boohoo dress has been one of my first SS15 wardrobe purchases. The 70s trend is at large right now,so Paisley is a staple print. The are so many colour combos to choose from, and I feel the blues and pinks in this particular print really compliment the array of colours in my hair right now. I love the cut of it too. The bell sleeves create a typical 70s silhouette, whilst the skater dress style keeps it modern. The square neckline is also really flattering.

Because of the busy nature of the print, this is a piece that doesn't require too many accessories. I've just paired it with my Miss Selfridge knee high boots  (it's not that warm) to continue the retro look, my F&F bag, some Camden Market sunglasses and a delicate gold and semi-precious stone drop necklace from Topshop

Let's just hope the weather continues to get better. The Spring/Summer trends right now are on point!

So Spring is meant to be upon us, and it's meant to be getting warmer. The weather is in that weird transitional stage that makes deciding what to wear in the morning impossible. The sun lulls us into a false sense of security, tricking us into thinking that we'll be too hot in a jumper and a coat.

PU Leather Jacket - Missbehaver.com
Double Coin Necklace - Lost at Sea Jewelllery
Polo Neck Top - New Look
Purple Side-Split Maxi Dress - H&M
Cleated Buckle Shoes - ASOS

Well I've been getting absolutely battered by the winds that are around at the moment, and I've been trying to come up with an outfit that encompasses me with warmth without looking like I'm wearing my duvet.

They say that necessity is the mother of invention, and that's kind of how this outfit came about. I knew the weekend was going to be miserable weather-wise, and I'd been wanting to try this maxi dress - polo neck top combo for a while. I think it actually works really well, in both fashion and practicality aspects.

I've had this purple maxi dress for a while now. I think it's from H&Ms early AW14-15 collection. I love the dapple detailing and side split, but also the way it hangs. It's loose fitting and doesn't cling, but sits on all the right places when pulled in with a waist belt. It looks great in Summer, but it didn't take much to turn it into a handy piece for those colder days. The New Look ribbed polo neck top not only works as an extra layer but elongates the dress and the body. It actually ends up looking like part of the dress. For added warmth I wore some knitted tights underneath, and paired with my coin necklace and cleated sole boots, and it was a good job too because I still underestimated how cold it was outside. Both me and the boyfriend were freezing!

Ok don't freak out! Yes I am wearing pink. I'm still a bit surprised myself.

Raglan Slogan T-Shirt - H&M
Cut-Out PU Leather Skirt - Pretty Lavish
Shearling Collar Biker Coat - Missguided
Silver Cleated Sole Shoes (only black available now) - H&M
White Packpack - New Look

So I was browsing the Missguided sale one day and stumbled across this coat. Usually, I wouldn't look twice at a pink coat, but there was something about the shade and the cut that stopped it from looking so 'girly'. I could actually see outfit potential, and ways in which I could add my own touch of grunge. The shape is also quite new for me too. I'm stuck in the mindset that because I have curves, everything I wear has to be fitted, but I'm slowly realising that actually, some shapeless garments can also look quite flattering.

I think my hair helps with a coat of this colour. It's a good contrast and sets the tone for the rest of the look. It's faded a lot, and can barely be recognised as purple, but I'm actually enjoying the two-toned blue at the moment.

As for the top and the shoes, they're the kind of pieces you walk past in a shop and think 'Oh come on, it would be silly of me not to.' The word mermaid gets thrown around a lot in reference to my hair, so I thought the slogan was very apt.

I don't think I really need to explain my mentality behind buying the shoes. They're shiny, they're the same shape as the classic Dr Martens 1461 shoe, AND they have cleated soles. Need I say more? They're surprisingly comfortable, and actually, go well with a lot (I got them soo muddy whilst taking these pictures).

I'm still getting my head around the fact that I own a pink coat, but I'm really looking forward to coming up with some looks that make it work for me.

After having a manic week in London on work experience, a casual outfit of the day was on the cards.

Beanie Hat - Primark
PU Leather Jacket - Missbehaver
Vintage Plaid Shirt - Rocket
Little Black Dress Slogan Tshirt Dres - Chiara
Over-the-knee socks - Asos
Boots - Dr Martens

So if you read my last week's 'Important Two Weeks Ahead' post, you'll know that I've had a very busy week commuting to and from London doing work experience at New! Magazine and as a result I've struggled to find time to post as regularly as I usually do. So apologies if it has been a bit of a ghost town on here.

Reaching a new level of tiredness inspired me to do a more casual outfit of the day post. However,  I do struggle to do casual in a stylish manner; it's usually just pyjama bottoms and an old oversized t-shirt so even this was a bit out of my comfort zone.

I had this Little Black Dress slogan tshirt dress on my Pinterest for ages, but when I saw it was in the sale for £4 it was a no brainer really. I could see it dressed both up and down, and thought it would be a handy but simple addition to my wardrobe.

I love how wrap-around shirts are becoming a statement feature, and I really think this vintage plaid one that I picked up years ago from Rocket helps to cut into the monochrome and bring some colour ( and it kept my bum warm).

This is a really basic outfit so there isn't much to say about it really other than if you play around with a few basic bits in your wardrobe you can actually come up with something new and even bring an edge to something you thought was stuck in one particular style.

Yay for warmer weather!
I know it's not Summer temperatures yet, but I'm at that stage where I feel I can swap my fur coats for something a bit lighter.
Beanie Hat - Primark
Eclipse Necklace - Rogue and the Wolf
Ribbed High Neck Top - New Look
Duster Coat - Primark
Check Shorts - Boohoo.com
Thigh High Socks - Asos
Boots - Asos
Rucksack - New Look

I recently purchased these plaid shorts in the sale from Boohoo.com and had been really looking forward to styling them.

I see this OOTD as a transition outfit from Winter to Spring; I've paired the shorts with sheer tights and knee high socks over the top, something I've actually started doing quite a lot recently. I just love the school girl vibes that it brings, without it being too risque.

Both the grey top and duster coat have been staple buys for me. I realised recently that I'm extremely low on basics, especially for this kind of weather, so I went exploring in New Look, which is jam packed with reasonable yet good quality basics right now. Tops like this go with so much and are a great way of building up a capsule wardrobe (I'll get there one day).

Duster coats are EVERYWHERE at the moment. I fell into the trap of thinking that because I'm short and curvy, wearing something so long and shapeless would make me look frumpy, but I was so wrong. Outerwear like this has a slimming and elongating effect, so don't shy away from cuts like this. It's the perfect outerwear addition for weather like this and this Primark one was an absolute steal at just £17. I just love the contrast in colour and texture with my grey New Look top.

An outfit like this doesn't need too many accessories, but the Rogue and the Wolf necklace, and New Look rucksack bring some touches of added colour and detail. Also, I like the subtle hint that I may have some mad witch skills, or at least connections in witchy places.

Valentines Day is a brilliant day to dress up in your finest, whether your celebrating with your other half, your family or your friends
Choker - Regal Rose
Ankle Boots - Asos

I spent Valentines Day at the boyfriend's in Essex, and we had a lovely, relaxed day that consisted of going to the cinema (no we did not go and see 50 Shades of Grey, I'd rather bathe in my own vomit) and then out for a lovely meal at The Rose in Brentwood where Kurtis had booked a table.
It was very chilled but very romantic and it was lovely to spend some quality time togethe.

For a Valentines Day such as this, I didn't want to be too overdressed, but still wanted to look like I'd made an effort, so this combo was perfect.

I've has the bardot top since Summer, and even though it's nothing special on its own, it can add a formal, elegant twist to an outfit. There's something about having the decolletage on show that I think is actually quite sexy. I obviously had to grunge things up a bit with my Regal Rose choker.

Where to begin with the skirt! I was lazily scanning the H&M sale one evening when this gem showed up. It was the only thing in the sale worth a second glance and it had to be mine. The word 'mermaid' has been thrown around on a few occasions in reference to my hair, so I thought it was apt that I owned this skirt, reminiscent of a mermaid's tail. There's more colour in this skirt than all the 'colourful' things I own put together.

After finding the holy grail of sale items, I'd caught the bug and was on the hunt for the perfect pair of shoes to go with it. My lucky streak was not yet over, because I soon came across these beastly boots. The subtle crocodile skin texture contrasts brilliantly with the skirt, whilst continuing the reptilian theme.

These two items only came to £33, which is an absolute bargain when you consider I've got a whole new outfit out of them. I can't wait to play around with this skirt some more. I'm thinking some fishnet tights next.

To finish the whole look off, I found this Barry M nail varnish that matched the skirt brilliantly. You can't tell in the pictures, but it's actually quite iridescent, even though it does have a matte finish. This is from Barry M's Silk Nail Effects collection in Forest.
